Social Lite App Reviews

Was working fine, but now... no Social Lite Window

The floating window idea was fine, but after a few weeks of use, the window has disappeared and cannot be retrieved. Ive restarted the Mac, removed Social Lite from my list of automatic app startups, have tried to find ways to access preferences for this app outside of the missing app window, but to no avail. The app is now useless (but does still give me a cute little chime to let me know that either FB, Twitter or Gmail has a message or posting update; however, with no window from which to view this, Im forced to go to the standard Safari or Chrome browser instead of simply viewing it in the app window. So, suffice to say, suddenly, for no reason, this app is now utterly uselsess... Perhaps the floating window idea wasnt so hot... at least with the fixed window, the app performed well.

Dumb

Lets put a giant ad on this so people deleate it as soon as its installed. terrible.

Its Good

The application is good. The facebook layout and the other layouts are great. Althought there are a few bugs and glitches that could be fixed. Also it is sometimes slow and other times fast. Its a bit of a pet peeve I have when this happens although it would be helpful if this was fixed. Although overall its a great application for facebook, twitter, and gmail! ^-^

very useful

very useful having Facebook, Twitter, and GMail intergrated all in one, I would give it 5 stars if it didnt have such a plain look to it, but the app works well

Good before update

It was very good but after I updated it, it has completely frozen. I have restarted my computer and it is still frozen. IT WILL NOT INFREEZE. I cant even delete it because my computer says it is opened.

CPU & RAM

i was burning the cpu & killing my laptops memory so i removed it!

Needs a tutorial or help guide

This app seems like something used on a phone. Is claims to be able to chat of facebook, but Im not figuring that out. :/ It feels like you have to go through a few hoops to get somewhere in addition to the "phone app" feel. Its very responsive, has good potential. the screen can be resized (a great thing Im thankful for). I somewhat prefer an actual web browser since Id be able to talk to several people at once. If there was a "chat with friends" tab, that would be perfect! Especially if you can have different tabs instead of windows to talk in. This app is good for something simple for people who dont chat often, or like to access fb in any window. (such with Lion on mac.) Overall, a little help guide would make this less confusing and more enjoyable. Especially who cant figure out things quickly. Thanks for making this app!

Nice App!

I like it. Maybe Im missing something, but it would be nice to be able to choose between "Highlighted Stories First" or "Recent Stories First". I still dont know why the heck Facebook invented this crap. Also, the app doesnt tell you of any updates on facebook, just on twitter. Due to those, Im giving it a 4 star. (btw, as of today, Social Pro is free, you might want to check it out)

Excellent app for Twiiter / Facebook / Gmail, notifications need improvement

Very slick, nicely designed, simple and intuitive app. (Hate the logo, though. ; ) "Social" is similar to TweetDeck but better -- doesnt rely on Adobe Air, is quick and light and stays out of the way, and also includes Gmail support. I dont really use Gmail but if you do, this will probably be all you need for an email client as well, which makes it a pretty amazing little app. Growl notifications are optional, and can be with or without sound. The one thing that really needs improvement is these notifications, though -- rather than showing the actual content of the post, every single notification is the same generic message, e.g.: "You have new tweet from Twitter" or "You have 34 unread messages from Gmail." Should be able to see at a glance what the new tweet or email message is and who its from, so you can ignore it or choose to read it, rather than having to first click on the notification in order to see the actual message. Very annoying. Lastly, the notifications do not seem to work for Facebook, at least for me. (I know Facebook changes stuff with their API a lot, so possibly this could be a Facebook issue that will be fixed soon?…)

Its a little bit slow

I dont like the logo and icons.. One more thing about Twitter, I would like to see my colors not the default.

its good

thank you for this nice app, but why does it automatically log me out of Facebook

Good, but needs better Facebook Viewer

I got Social Lite to replace Social Pro because of the bugs with my Twitter on that app. However, I was disappointed to learn that Facebook can only be seen in the Mobile View with the Lite version, I think it should also have the Desktop Viewer option as well. Please add that feature!

Not bad, but uses too much RAM.

I really wanted to like this app. It works well, its easy to use. Its pretty much like having an iPhone app for Facebook and Twitter on your menubar. However, for my taste, it uses too much RAM. I was watching in my activity monitor and witnessed it using on average 55 - 60 percent of my CPU. If you are browing and simply just want this to keep your tabs down, this may be for you. But, I wanted something to keep an eye on my networks while playing games. This simply isnt built to do that.

Finally!

This is app is great. I finally found an app that can let me look at both my Facebook and Twitter. Tweetdeck is ok but, you cant access FB that well and, you have to set up an account to use it. FTN! Social Lite is basically giving you the interactions that you get when you use the FB and Twitter apps that you can get on your iPhone or, iPad. If your good with that, then get this app. And if you dont like the column, you can drag out the window to fit your screen.

HORRIBLE!

THIS IS THE REASON MY MAC HAS BEEN RUNNING SLOW THE PAST COUPLE WEEKS. SAD IT TOOK ME JUST NOW TO FIGURE OUT WHY.. DONT RECOMMEND!

No GChat…. Gmail yes

There is no GChat option… just FB, Twitter and Gmail. Uninstalled immediately.
